Restaurant Review: U Prince Terrace Restaurant

    One word… amazing.

Holly and I ate here for our 10 year anniversary celebration dinner while we were in Prague and really enjoyed ourselves.  For starters, the restaurant is literally on the roof of the U Prince hotel, which is positioned right on the main square in Prague.  You have a 360 degree view of the city and can look right down on the astronomical clock (and hear it chime as you eat).  While you’re not eating, you’ll be busy picking your jaw up off the table from the view (pictured here).

Speaking of eating, the food was amazing.  I had a filet and Holly had a shrimp plate; which we both thoroughly enjoyed.  We also both got desserts and were absolutely stuffed when we were finished.  The really awesome thing about the Terrace Restaurant at the U Prince Hotel was the price of everything.  While not cheap, it was quite a bit less then what we would have spent in the US at a “special occasion” type restaurant… and you’re in Prague on a rooftop for crying out loud.  You can buy that kind of view in the US!

A couple of things to note about the Terrace Restaurant; you absolutely need reservations… well in advance.  I sent an email to them a couple months in advance and had no problem getting the date and time I wanted, however everyone I spoke with said that it was necessary to book this far out.  Do yourself a favor and book it early.  Secondly, it isn’t the most obvious place when you’re looking for it.  There are generally large crowds right out front, because of the astronomical clock as well as the restaurants that are at street level all have outside seating there.  Just walk to the U Prince and sort through the crowd to an entrance that looks like you’re going into a bar… you’ll take an elevator up from there.

Totally awesome place!
